Nope, it can’t.
Sometimes my writing is straight up rambling, story telling, or my favourite food concoction of the month. Sometimes I am struck with a rare inspirational thought that I share with you, but it usually still reads like rambling. Either way, there are times when the story has to be straight-up, raw honesty.
And that’s ok.
I’m going to be real for a second here. Some people try too damn hard. They try to hard to “inspire” those around them, stringing non-sensical words together in an attempt to make it sound like wisdom. These people might be right occasionally, but other times it’s just straight up bullsh*t. Even worse if you know them personally and they don’t practice what they preach.
Yes, I try to share a little wisdom with others. But this “wisdom” comes from learning life’s hard lessons – of which I’ve had MANY opportunities. I may not articulate them beautifully, but I share my story in an effort to help at least one damn person out there in the vast internet world. Sure, it’s nice when these other people try to help us, but only inspiring if we know where they are actually coming from. Have they experienced hardships and come out on the other side? Are they still a work in progress, never claiming to be cured of whatever ailed them? Then that’s real and that’s the sh*t I want to read.
In a world where we’re bombarded by our news feeds, Twitter feeds, blogs, Facebook, and more, it’s hard to sift through what’s real and what’s not. I want to find inspiration and motivation in what I read, but sometimes it’s just so damn hard. Hard to read the fluff, hard to read people telling me that life is always sun shiny rainbows. Because, it’s not. Hell no, it’s not. Life is a journey with all those beautiful ups and downs that we have to accept, no matter how hard we refuse. Not every day can be a ray of sunshine, sometimes life happens and we have to take the hits as they come. Of course, we can all strive to be positive and grateful, but if you’re not feeling that for one day than that’s alright. You’re entitled to your emotions and if you want to hide from the world for a few moments, maybe a whole day, than do it. Take the time you need to get back on track. Read those inspirational books and blog posts, but make sure to sift through the sh*t and read what resonates with you and what’s real. Take care of you.
